Sleeper Vande Bharat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi can flag off this train next month. The official said that a total of 30 Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be run in the current financial year 2025-26.
Sleeper Vande Bharat: The experience of traveling in trains in Indian Railways is going to change. Railway passengers will soon be able to enjoy a journey in the semi high speed Vande Bharat train (sleeper) equipped with world-class facilities. In the current financial year, the government has set a target of running 30 Vande Bharat sleeper trains. The first train will start running on the tracks by the end of July. Railway officials said that the speed trial of the first Vande Bharat sleeper train has been completed. Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) Lucknow has completed the investigation related to the technology and speed of the train. The Railway Board is first deciding the railway track and fare of the Vande Bharat sleeper train.
After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can flag off this train next month. The official said that a total of 30 Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be run in the current financial year 2025-26. In this, 10 Vande Bharat sleeper trains are ready in the government’s public sector undertaking (PSU) Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) Bangalore. After the first train gets the green signal, other trains will be put on the track in a phased manner. He said that eight to 10 Vande Bharat are being manufactured at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai. BEML and ICF are jointly making the coaches of the said train.
The speed will be 160 km per hour
The next generation Vande Bharat sleeper train is being designed from 160 to 240 km per hour. Currently, Vande Bharat (chair car) including Rajdhani, Shatabdi is running at a maximum speed of 130 km per hour. With the state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology of the future generation, there is a plan to run Vande Bharat sleeper train at a speed of 160 km per hour soon. After this, their speed will be increased in a phased manner. With this speed, Vande Bharat train will be run mainly on Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai railway routes. It is known that to make the said railway routes high speed, anti-collision technology shields and other safety measures are being taken.
Separate corridors will be built
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had indicated in an informal meeting that in future, Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be run at high speed instead of foreign bullet trains. He argues that according to the world standard, a speed of 240 km per hour is considered high speed. At a speed higher than this, the cost of running the train increases. Therefore, there is no plan to run bullet trains in collaboration with Japan or European countries. He said that separate high speed elevated corridors will be built to run Vande Bharat at a speed of 240.
