Dearness allowance is given to the employees to get rid of inflation. Twice a year from January to June and again from July to December. To fix the DA, the government estimates the average inflation in 6 months. Along with the calculation of DA, TA is also reconciled. With the increase in DA, there is also an increase in TA. Similarly, HRA and Medical Compensation are decided. The CTC of the central employee is decided by including all the allowances.
Will there be an increase in salary in July?
The payment of Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees has been stopped since January 2020 last year. That means a total of three installments have to come. This means that in July, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees and at the same time the DA stopped for the last 18 months will also be paid. After this, the dearness allowance of the employees will increase to 28 percent, which is currently 17 percent.
How much can the salary increase?
Under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), the minimum salary of central employees is Rs 18000. In this, 15 percent dearness allowance is expected to be added. In this sense, Rs 2700 per month will be directly added to the salary. If we look at the annual basis, then the central employees will get a total benefit of Rs 32400 in DA. According to government sources, the dearness allowance for June 2021 will be slightly delayed. But, that too is expected to grow by 4 per cent. Meaning it can also be paid by October. At that time the dearness allowance will increase to a total of 32 percent.
Are arrears also expected?
There is a demand of the employees union that they should also be given DA arrear payment for the last 18 months. According to Shiv Gopal Mishra of the National Council of JCM, the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. Whereas, for Level-13 (7th CPC basic pay scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (pay scale), the DA arrears in the hands of an employee will be Rs 1,44,200. 2,18,200 can come up to Rs.
