A fine of Rs 5,000 is being taken from the people leaving the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with bikes, autos, tractors, scooties. This fine amount can also increase if the vehicle’s documents are not completed or if any other rules are not followed. On Tuesday, the traffic police challaned six vehicles for not following the rules on the expressway near Sohna.
Action started on those running banned vehicles
Traffic Inspector Azad said that action has been initiated against those running the banned vehicles on the Mumbai Expressway. On Tuesday, after stopping a person going on a bike, he was challaned for five thousand rupees. 3 vehicles were challaned for over speed and 2 vehicles were challaned for wrong lane driving. While traveling on the expressway, control the speed with people doing lane driving. Presently the number of vehicles is less on this expressway and checking will continue in the coming days as well.
120 kilometer per hour speed fixed for cars
At the same time, NHAI officials say that the speed of 120 km per hour has been fixed for cars on this expressway, online challan will be deducted for driving at a higher speed. Speed displays have been installed at various places. Cars cannot be parked everywhere on the highway. All the cameras are working and monitoring is being done from the control room. Photos of the vehicles will also be sent to the police to take action against those who do not follow the rules.
Slow moving vehicles banned on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The newly launched Phase 1 of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway bars two-wheelers including motorcycles and scooters, three-wheelers, non-motorized vehicles and tractors with or without trailers from entry. The NHAI has issued a gazette notification on this saying that the movement of speeding vehicles may endanger the safety of certain categories of vehicles moving at a comparatively slower speed.
