New SIM Card Buyers Alert! Government has issued new rules regarding SIM cards, now they will be fined Rs 10 lakh.

However, now the government has issued new rules regarding SIM cards. Under this, a fine of Rs 10 lakh can also be imposed. Let us know what would be the situation when a fine of Rs 10 lakh can be imposed.

Actually, according to the new rules, telecom companies will be fined Rs 10 lakh for selling SIM cards through unregistered sellers. The Department of Telecommunications gave this information in a circular on Thursday. The Department of Telecommunications said that the new rules made to stop fraudulent sale of SIM cards will be effective from October 1. Telecom companies have to register all their points of sale (POS) before September 30.

People get a chance to commit crimes through fake SIM cards. To stop this also, a new step has been taken by the government. According to the circular, “If the licensee allows enrollment of customers without registration of any new POS after September 30, then the concerned license service area will impose a penalty of Rs 10 lakh per POS on each licensee.” All mobile connections activated through unregistered sales centers will also be re-verified as per the existing rules.

Documentation required

All existing SIM sales centers will also have to submit documents and get registered before the end of September. However, registration of PoS appointed only for recharge/billing activities will not be required. The retailer needs to provide Corporate Identification Number (CIN), Limited Liability Partnership Identification Number (LLPIN) or business license, Aadhaar or passport, PAN, Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration certificate for registration.
