Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 will now have a convenient metro connection. DAIL has announced a new plan to extend the Golden Line to T1. A new integrated metro station in Aerocity will further facilitate passenger travel.
New Delhi: A new metro station will be built between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 at Delhi Airport to provide easy and fast connectivity for passengers. This plan was shared by Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, Chief Executive Officer of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). This will provide time-saving and convenient travel for passengers traveling to and from the airport.
The new metro station will increase access to T1 and Aerocity.
Currently, of Delhi Airport’s three terminals, T2 and T3 are close to each other, while T1 is located a few kilometers away. Jaipuriar explained that previously, the Golden Line only reached Aerocity, but now plans are underway to extend it to T1. This will provide passengers with direct metro access from T1 to Aerocity, and from Aerocity, the Airport Line will provide easy access to T3 and T2.
Integrated Metro Station at Aerocity
Aerocity already houses the Airport Metro Line, and now a new Golden Line Metro Station will be built at this location. This will make transportation between T1 and T3 more seamless for passengers. This project will be completed in coordination with the DMRC to address both airport congestion and time savings.
