The Ministry of Labor is ready with the rules under the four labor codes. But states are slow to finalize these rules under the new code. In such a situation, its implementation this year seems to be difficult.

New Delhi: Special news is coming out about the implementation of the Labor Code. Due to the delay in drafting by the states, it is difficult to implement the four labor codes in 2021-22 this year. Another reason for the delay in implementing the Labor Code is political, such as the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. In fact, as soon as these laws are implemented, the salary of the employees will decrease and the pressure of Provident Fund to the companies will also increase.

Delay in drafting of rules by the states
A source with knowledge of the matter said that the labor ministry is ready with the rules under the four codes. But states are slow in finalizing these rules under the new code. The central government also does not want to implement these codes for political reasons. Assembly elections can be held in Uttar Pradesh in February next year. In such a situation, the government does not want to implement these codes right now.

New rules will be made for the new labor code
Actually the government is working on the new labor code. There may be a change in the rules of holidays under the new labor code. Under the new labor laws, in the coming days, there can be three days off in a week. According to the new rules, the company and the employees can take a decision on this with mutual consent.

Working hours may increase
But with this the working hours will also increase. Companies can be given the facility to choose four working day weeks with longer shifts. However, the working time limit will be 48 hours only. For four days working day week, the company will be allowed to make its employees shift up to 12 hours. On the other hand, if 5 days are working days, then there will be a shift of 9 hours. Whereas the shift in 6 working days will be a shift of 8 hours. That is, in total, only a maximum of 48 hours will have to be worked in a week.

Employees will not be exploited
However, the labor union has objected to 12 hours of work. This too is being seriously considered by the ministry. Right now the rules and regulations are being decided on the provision related to working hours. The Labor Ministry has also said in the past that companies will not be able to exploit their employees at any cost.
