Car, AC, Televisions get Cheaper after New GST Reforms: A big change in the GST tax slab can be seen by Diwali this year. PM Narendra Modi has already given indications of this from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Any change in the GST slab will bring great relief to the common man. At present, there are 4 different slabs of GST. Products have been kept in different slabs of 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent and 28 percent. But now there is a discussion that by removing these, only two slabs of 5 percent and 18 percent will remain. At the same time, a separate GST of 40 percent can be imposed on tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol. Let us know which items can become cheaper after the implementation of the new GST reform.
These products can come in 5% GST slab (ANI based)
1- Tooth powder
2- Bhujia
3- Namkeen
4- Potato chips
5- Ketchup
6- Jam
7- Mayonnaise
8- Packaged juices
9- Pasta
10- Noodles
11- Butter
12- Ghee
13- Cheese
14- Milk products like lassi, buttermilk etc.
15- Condensed milk
These products can be brought in 18% GST slab
1- Tax on small vehicles can be reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent.
2- GST on insurance premium can be reduced from 18 percent to 5 percent or zero GST.
3- Products used daily – can be reduced from 5 percent to zero.
4- AC is currently in 28 percent GST slab. But in the new reform, it can be brought in the slab of 18 percent.
5- Television is also currently attracting 28 percent GST. It can also be brought in the slab of 18 percent.
According to the report of Economics Times, textiles, farm machinery, auto components, healthcare and insurance products can become cheaper after the new GST reform. Let us tell you, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is holding an important meeting with the Group of Ministers of States on Wednesday. In this meeting, the group of ministers has to explain the GST reform of the central government.
AC can become cheaper by up to Rs 2500
According to the report of PTI, if the GST slab of AC is reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent, then the prices can fall from Rs 1500 to Rs 2500. Also, 28 percent GST is currently applicable on TVs above 32 inches. But this can also be reduced to 18 percent.
