New feature for UPI users: Now you can view transactions from other apps without changing the app, check details

There’s some good news for digital payment users. If you use apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm, you no longer need to log into multiple apps to view all your transactions.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is preparing to implement a new rule that will allow users to view and manage all their UPI transactions and auto-payments from a single app, even if they’re set up on another app. This change will be mandatory for all UPI apps and payment service providers (PSPs) by December 31, 2025. This means that by the New Year, this system will be implemented for all digital payment users across the country. This will not only increase the transparency of digital payments but will also simplify users’ financial planning and auto-payment tracking.

What is the new change?

Until now, if a user had auto payments enabled on Google Pay and also had some transactions running on PhonePe, they had to go to each app separately to check them. However, with the new system, users can go to any one app (such as Paytm or Google Pay) and see auto payments and mandates for all UPI apps in one place.

Mandate porting facility

Users will now be able to transfer (port) their UPI mandates from one app to another. This means that if you’ve set up autopayments for Netflix or your electricity bill using Google Pay, you can now move them to PhonePe or Paytm in just a few clicks. This will make switching apps easier than ever, allowing users to choose their preferred platform.

Payments will be more secure

NPCI said that under the new update, features like Face ID and biometric authentication will also be added, which will make UPI transactions more secure.

What will be the benefit?

This change will allow digital payment users to keep track of all their transactions, and it will also be easier to track and cancel auto payments.
