Navratri and Dussehra Holiday: The Telangana government has released the schedule of Dussehra holidays for the academic year 2025. The government has released separate calendars for schools and junior colleges.

These holidays will give students and teachers an opportunity to celebrate the festival with their families.

Holidays for schools…

  • Holiday Starts: Sunday, September 21, 2025
  • Holiday ends: Friday, October 3, 2025
  • Total vacation: 13 days
  • Classes resume: Saturday, October 4, 2025

However, because October 4th is a Saturday, many students will not be attending school that day and will be attending classes directly on Monday, October 6th. This means that children’s vacations may be longer.

Vacation for junior colleges…

Holidays start: Sunday 28 September 2025

Holiday ends: Sunday 5 October 2025

Total vacation: 8 days

Classes resume: Monday 6th October 2025

Exam Schedule…

All schools will have to complete the FA-2 Formative Assessment-2) exams before the holidays. As soon as the break is over, students will have to prepare for SA-1 (Summative Assessment-1), which will be held from October 24 to 31. The results will be declared by November 6, 2025.

Junior College Students…

After the holidays, students will have to prepare in a short time as their half-term exams will be held from 10 to 15 November 2025. The Education Department has advised all schools and colleges to make their academic plans keeping in mind the holidays and exam schedule. Also, parents and students have been asked to enjoy the festive holidays while keeping in mind the preparation for the upcoming exams.
