The distance from Namo Bharat’s Ghaziabad station to Delhi Metro’s Shaheed Sthal Metro Station is approximately 300 meters. A foot overbridge (FOB) has been constructed to span this length.
Travelators will now be installed to facilitate the easy transport of luggage between elderly and female passengers. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited tenders for this. Luggage can be transported from one location to another by simply placing it on the FOB.
This means there will be no need to lug luggage across this long FOB. Currently, passengers travel to other stations using e-rickshaws and other means. A large number of passengers from Meerut disembark at Ghaziabad station and travel to various locations in Delhi via the Shaheed Sthal Metro.
NCRTC has already installed six travelators on the 280-meter-long foot overbridge connecting Namo Bharat Station at Sarai Kale Khan and Nizamuddin Railway Station to provide seamless and faster connectivity to elderly, disabled, and luggage-carrying passengers. This overbridge will serve as a multimodal interchange, allowing passengers to travel from one location to another without leaving the station.
