Mumbai local train started for women from today, railway board approved

Common women can travel in the local train from 11 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to late night.




Local trains called Mumbai’s lifeline have also been started for women. On the request of the Maharashtra government, the Railway Board has approved all the women traveling in the local train. Hence, from today onwards, ordinary women can also travel comfortably by taking tickets like before the corona virus lockdown. All women are allowed to travel in the local train from 11 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to late night. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had said in a tweet that I am happy that now women in Mumbai can also travel on a local train. Goyal said that after the request of the Maharashtra government, women have been allowed to travel. He said, We were always ready and today after receiving the letter from the Government of Maharashtra, we have given permission for this visit.

Women do not need QR Code

Women do not need to show a QR code to travel. Women passengers have been allowed to travel in local trains during non peak hours. Only people associated with essential services can travel in peak hours. It also includes women.

Local was closed for common people from 22 March

Actually the local service was completely stopped from 22 March. During this time the railway continues to run trains for its employees. After this, on 15 June, at the request of the state government, the railways approved the travel for people in trains for essential services.
