If you also want to travel by metro, then know that you don’t have to buy tickets from the ticket counters at metro stations. You can digitally create a metro card through the DMRC app and book metro tickets from there.

This is how you can book metro tickets:-

step 1

  • If you want to book metro tickets online, first download the Metro Sarathi app.
  • Then you have to enter your mobile number on this app and fill in the OTP received on the mobile number.
  • After this you will be logged in and you will see the interface

Step 2

  • Then you have to click on ‘Book QR Ticket’ and then you have to select the station here.
  • After this you have to select the number of passengers and you will be shown the payment below
  • You can make online payment through UPI etc. after which you will get a QR code which you have to put at the entry gate of the metro and travel.

Here’s how you can get a digital metro pass:

  • If you want to get a digital Metro card, you need to click on the ‘Virtual Smart Card’ option on the app.
  • Then you will have to enter the amount here.
  • You can recharge the card online with the amount you want and then use this digital metro card.
  • You get discounts on travel using this card, just like a normal card.

Passengers should keep these things in mind:-

  • If you are a male passenger, do not travel in the ladies’ coach. Otherwise, you may be fined. The first coach in the train’s movement is reserved for women, and only women can travel in it.
  • Additionally, you cannot sit on the floor in the connecting areas of a metro coach or anywhere else on the train. Anyone caught doing so could face a fine.
