Kolkata Metro Railway issued a statement on Thursday giving this information. According to Kolkata Metro, a system is being developed for smooth movement of trains from up line to down line at Shahid Khudiram station on the Blue Line Metro. For this, the metro service on this line will be disrupted for 2 days.
Trains will not run on these stations
According to Metro officials, due to repair work, metro service will not be available between Kolkata’s Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge) and Shahid Khudiram (Birji) stations from 10 pm on August 30 to 4 pm the next day. In such a situation, people traveling on this route will have to catch a taxi, auto or bus to reach their destination.
Cracks were seen on the pillars of the station
Kolkata Metro said in a statement that cracks were seen on the pillars of Kavi Subhash (New Garia) station a month ago. After this, metro operations were stopped at this station. Since then, metro officials were running trains from Dakshineswar to Shahid Khudiram (Birji) station of Blue Line. Shahid Khudiram station comes before Kavi Subhash station.
