Mask Rules For Bikers: Cases of corona virus infection have started increasing again in Delhi. In view of this, the Delhi government has swung into action and has started taking precautionary measures. In view of the increased cases of corona virus in Delhi, the government has again made wearing of masks mandatory. It is now mandatory for all persons to wear masks in public places in Delhi. Those who do not do so will be fined Rs 500. In such a situation, there may be a question in the mind of some people that those who travel in Delhi by their car or bike, is this rule applicable for them also?

The answer is ‘yes’ as well as ‘no’. Actually, the Delhi government has said in the notification that ‘not wearing a face mask / cover in all public places is an offense’. Those not wearing masks will be fined Rs 500. However, this fine will not apply to those people who are traveling in their own private four wheeler. This means that if you are traveling in your private car, then you can walk without a mask, you will not be fined. However, it is necessary for those traveling in commercial vehicles such as cabs, autorickshaws, etc. to wear a face mask.

Apart from this, it is mandatory for you to wear a mask even if you walk on a bike. Some people may be confused that wearing a helmet will not require a mask when riding a bike because the helmet covers the face. but it’s not like that. The rule of fine is also applicable for those who ride bikes wearing helmets. That is why, while walking on the bike, wear a mask and then wear a helmet over it. There is a challan even for traveling without a helmet. There is a challan of 1000 rupees for this.
