He has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir after the resignation of Girish Chandra Murmu. According to news agency ANI, President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, after which Manoj Sinha has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.



According to the information, the Central Government on Thursday appointed former Union Minister Manoj Sinha as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in place of Girish Chandra Murmu. President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Manoj Sinha to the post after accepting the resignation of Girish Chandra Murmu, the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory. After the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, on October 31 last year, Murmu assumed the position of Lieutenant Governor.



According to a release issued by the press secretary of the President Ajay Kumar Singh, the appointment of Manoj Sinha will come into force from the date he takes charge of his office. Please tell that former Union Minister Manoj Sinha is a former IAS officer. He has previously served as Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs. He has also served as the Minister of State for Railways.

Murmu’s resignation created a stir!

Late Wednesday, on the first anniversary of the removal of Article-370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu resigned from his post. From the news of Murmu’s resignation, from the administration camp to the political parties, there was a furore. Murmu also submitted his resignation to President Ramnath Kovind late at night. While the reasons for Murmu’s resignation were not known, there are rumors that he was upset with the functioning of some senior bureaucrats. According to sources, Murmu may be appointed to a major position at the center.



Canceled all programs

The news of Murmu’s resignation spread with the sunset in the evening. Earlier, he canceled all scheduled programs in Srinagar from noon to evening. He also canceled the meeting with other high-level administrative delegations besides media persons from Delhi. Nobody met anyone after 12 noon. He then stayed in Jammu where he attended the meeting of the Administrative Council besides meeting with the Northern Command’s GOC-in-C Lt Gen YK Joshi.



According to Murmu’s close friends, he was seriously considering the subject continuously for the past few days. The ongoing discussions in the civil secretariat and local circles, if believed to be true, did not derail with some senior bureaucrats in the Jammu and Kashmir administration. He had also allegedly discussed the issue with the Home Minister and the Prime Minister in Delhi. Discussion of GC Murmu’s resignation was going on for several days.
