In case the non-subsidised price is more than the subsidized price, the amount of such difference is directly transferred to the bank account of the cash transfer compliant customers up to the ceiling of cylinders which is currently 12 refill cylinders per financial year .

There are many questions in the minds of common consumers regarding subsidy on LPG cylinders. The question is about getting subsidy or not. There are complaints from the people that the government or the gas distribution agency keeps the cylinders in the subsidized and non-subsidized category. But when it comes to taking subsidy, money does not come in their account. Such complaints are being seen for the last several months. Many customers have raised such a point on social media.

A Delhi consumer on twitter wanted to know from the government whether gas subsidy has been stopped as not a single rupee has been credited to his account in the last 18 months, while the gas agency voucher writes a subsidized cylinder with exactly Rs 859 . This customer has asked a question to the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas @MoPNG_Seva.

The customer has also attached the slip of the gas agency with his tweet, on which information about gas booking and delivery etc. has been given. Another customer has made similar complaint. They say that subsidy on gas cylinders is not being received from April-May 2020. The customer says that the government has stopped the subsidy and people are not even being given concrete information about it.

What is the government’s answer

These complaints have been answered on the Twitter account @MoPNG_eSeva, created for taking and redressal of complaints of the oil and gas sector. @MoPNG_eSeva wrote in a tweet, ‘Note dear customer – the subsidy has not been abolished but at present also the subsidy on domestic LPG gas is in vogue and it varies from market to market. As per the PAHAL (DBTL) Scheme 2014, the amount of subsidy for a market is determined by the difference between the ‘price of subsidized cylinder’ and ‘market determined price of non-subsidised cylinder’.

When will you get subsidy

@MoPNG_eSeva wrote in the next tweet, If the non-subsidised price is more than the subsidized price, then the amount of such difference, up to the maximum limit of cylinders, which is currently 12 refill cylinders per financial year, is to be paid by cash transfer compliant customers. is transferred directly to the bank account of In view of the above, your subsidy is being generated 0/- in your bank account from May-2020 hence no subsidy has been transferred.
