LPG cylinder new price: New update! Domestic LPG cylinder became cheaper by Rs 200, know details

Today, the central government has cut the prices of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 200. The government has given these benefits to the women of the country before the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Along with this, the government has also given a discount of Rs 200 on LPG cylinders available under the Ujjwala scheme. Earlier, oil companies had cut the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 100.



Giving relief from rising inflation, the Modi government at the Center has cut the prices of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 200, giving relief to the public.

The central government has given this special gift to all the women of the country before the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Apart from this, the government has also given an additional discount of Rs 200 to the beneficiaries coming under the Ujjwala scheme.

Let us tell you that a rebate of Rs 200 was already being given by the government to all the beneficiaries coming under the Ujjwala scheme, which has now increased to Rs 400.

What will be the new price?

The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in New Delhi is currently Rs 1,103, which will be reduced to Rs 903 from tomorrow i.e. Wednesday. Whereas in Mumbai, the price of LPG is currently Rs 1,102, which will come down to Rs 902 tomorrow.

Ujjwala cylinder became cheaper by Rs 400

Let us tell you that for the Ujjwala beneficiaries, it has also been announced to give an additional subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder, after which now the price of the cylinder available under the Ujjwala scheme will be Rs 703. Announcing the government’s decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said the move was aimed at providing relief to the families.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices were also reduced

Earlier on August 1, the country’s oil companies had reduced the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 100. However, there was no change in the prices of domestic LPG gas cylinders at that time.

Government will give 75 lakh additional Ujjwala connections

Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed that the government will provide an additional 75 lakh Ujjwala connections, taking the total number of PMUY beneficiaries to 10.35 crore.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a government scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. The scheme basically aims to provide free LPG connections to women below the poverty line.

The scheme initially envisaged distribution of 50 million LPG connections. Later, it aims to provide LPG connections to eight crore women by March 2020. However, this target was achieved seven months earlier, in September 2019. This scheme also aims to provide freedom to poor women from the fumes of the stove.
