The Modi government is going to give a big relief to the domestic LPG consumers. Now the customers themselves will be able to decide from which distributor they have to get the gas refilled. This facility has been named Refill Booking Portability and can be started from next week as a pilot project in select cities of the country. Let us tell you that apart from choosing the distributor, there will be no change in the entire process of booking cylinders. At present, this scheme is being started as a pilot project. The government has chosen Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi for this. If the pilot project is successful, then this scheme can be gradually launched in other cities as well.
Now if you book a gas cylinder, then the same distributor from whom you have taken the connection delivers the cylinder to you. That is, once you have taken the gas connection from the distributor, you are given all the facilities related to gas by the same distributor. You do not have the option to change the distributor.
Distributor selection process
You have to login with your LPG ID by visiting www.mylpg.in website.
If you are not already registered, you will need to register.
Here you will get the region wise distributor information.
Rating will also be given next to each distributor. You will be able to choose the distributor of your choice.
After selecting the distributor, a form will be sent to you for confirmation by mail.
You are changing distributor This information will be sent to your current distributor.
The existing distributor may request you to not change the distributor over the phone within three days.
If you wish to continue with the existing distributor, the distributor will have the option to cancel your request.
If you want to change the distributor, then you can ask the current distributor for it. He will immediately transfer your connection to the new distributor.
If the existing distributor does not transfer your connection within 3 days, then on the fourth day automatically your connection will be transferred to the new distributor.
You will not need to deposit your cylinder and other things, nor will you have to go to the distributor. The entire process will be online.
You will not be charged any registration fee, security deposit or any kind of charge for this entire process.
