Some brands of liquor are not available in the national capital Delhi these days. However, the sale of liquor is increasing due to which the revenue is also increasing. However, many brands of beer and English ale are not available amid the heat. Regarding the availability of beer, it is being said that consumption is more in all the states during summer. That’s why they put pressure on the companies producing here to first supply in their state, due to which the supply has been affected.
One reason for this is that many brands of English liquor are not even registered in Delhi. Vinod Giri, director general of the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies, says that if we look at the figures, the sale of liquor has increased in Delhi, but some selected English brands are not available. For example, there is a big multinational company from France, whose many brands are liked but none of its brands are being sold in Delhi. Similarly there are many other brands as well.
There is also a reason behind this that the government is charging a fee of Rs 25 lakh. There are many things in selling under other government systems, due to which many big companies are also saved. Now all the work from sale to supply of liquor in Delhi is in the hands of the government, due to which many brands did not come. On the other hand, talking about the sale of beer, one reason for this is that 573 shops are open in Delhi so far, many of which do not have enough space to keep fridges inside.
Because of this there is no stock in these shops. These shops stock only a limited quantity. By the way, it is often seen in Delhi that the supply of beer gets reduced during the summer season. The main reason for this is that Delhi is not a productive state. Supplies are from other states only. Now the states where the companies are preparing beer by setting up plants, then in the summer season, those states are doing it first to meet their demand. There is a demand of 1.3 crore boxes per year in Delhi, but last year only about 96 lakh boxes were sold.
