Due to the municipal elections in Delhi, there will be a ban on the sale of liquor from Friday to Sunday. The Excise Department of the city has announced this. Voting is to be held on Sunday for the election of 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The counting of votes will be done on December 7. The Excise Department announced that December 7 will also be observed as a dry day.

Dry days are the days when the government prohibits the sale of liquor in shops, clubs, bars etc. Delhi Commissioner (Excise) Krishna Mohan Uppu said in a notification on Wednesday that in accordance with the provisions of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010, it is ordered that December 2 to December 4 and December 7 will be observed as dry days. . It has been said in the notification that, on December 2, 2022 (Friday) from 5:30 pm, Dry Day will be celebrated till December 4, 2022 (Sunday) at 5:30 pm. It has been said that on December 7, 2022 (Wednesday) also a dry day will be observed for 24 hours. Counting of votes will take place on December 7.
