Both country-English liquor cheap in Haryana
Actually, smuggling of illicit liquor had increased due to the cheap liquor in Delhi. Due to this the Haryana government was suffering. Due to this, the state government decided to make liquor cheaper. At the same time, according to the new liquor policy, now the number of liquor contracts in a zone has been increased from two to four.
Preparations to extend the time of serving liquor in Delhi
On one hand, where liquor has become cheaper in Haryana, there has been an update regarding the sale of liquor from Delhi as well. The Delhi government is preparing to allow bars in the capital to serve liquor till 3 am. However, the government has not yet issued an official notification in this regard.
Delhi’s new excise policy will come soon
An informed source in the Delhi government said that the order is likely to be issued soon under the Excise Policy 2021-22. The source said that the government will hold a meeting with Delhi Police and other agencies for the safe implementation of the new timings.
Sisodia asked to extend the closing time of the restaurant
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the excise department, in an official note on Thursday asked the department to extend the closing hours of restaurants. Along with this, orders were also given to ensure that if any bar or restaurant remains open till 3 am, then it should not be disturbed.
Sisodia further said in his note, the Delhi government approved the new excise policy in November 2021, allowing restaurants across NCR, including Gurugram and Noida, to open till 3 am. The help of Delhi Police and other agencies will be taken in this.
