Life Certificate: Pensioners have to submit their life certificate by 30th November. Pensioners have to submit their life certificate every year. Submitting the life certificate means that you are alive.

The deadline for submitting life certificate for super senior citizens i.e. pensioners above 80 years of age has started from October 1. Senior citizen pensioners aged between 60 to 80 years will be able to submit life certificate between November 1 and 30. Pensioners can submit their annual life certificate through these methods. This includes both online and offline.

The Central Pension Accounting Office has said that if a pensioner does not want to appear before the Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA), he can submit his life certificate. For this, it is necessary for the life certificate of the pensioner to be signed by a designated official. The CPAO (Central Pension Accounting Office) scheme booklet states that these pensioners are not required to be physically present. A list of all such named officers who are eligible to put their signatures on the life certificate has been released.

It has been said that if a pensioner submits the life certificate form signed by the designated officer then personal presence is not required. As per paragraph 14.3 of the Scheme Booklet issued by CPAO, a pensioner who submits the Life Certificate in the required format and with required signatures is exempted from appearing in person.

What will need to be done

To submit the life certificate in this way, first of all you will have to download the form of life certificate prescribed for state or central government pensioners from the pension site. After this, you will have to fill your complete details including PPO number in this form and get it signed by the nominated officer.

What is life certificate?

Pensioners whose age is 80 years or more can now submit their life certificate from October 1. Life certificate is submitted every year so that the banks are aware whether the pensioner is alive or not. The process for senior citizens aged between 60 to 80 years will start from November 1, 2023.
