Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC: Maharashtra government has now made e-KYC process mandatory for all the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (Ladki Bahin Yojana).

A time period of two months has been fixed for completing this process. Along with the beneficiaries, it has also been made mandatory to get e-KYC done of their husband or father. To gather information about family income, it has been made mandatory for married beneficiaries to get e-KYC done of their husband and for unmarried beneficiaries, it has been made mandatory to get e-KYC done of their father. However, many beneficiaries have complained that they are not able to complete the process due to not getting OTP during online e-KYC.

The Ladki Behen Yojana is putting a financial burden on the state government’s treasury. Consequently, the state government has launched a campaign to identify fraudulent beneficiaries. The state government has implemented another important rule for the Ladki Behen Yojana. This rule is likely to further reduce the number of female beneficiaries under the Ladki Behen Yojana. It has now become mandatory for the beneficiaries of this scheme, as well as their husbands or fathers, to complete their e-KYC.

What is the new rule now?

Under this rule, if the beneficiary woman’s income, combined with that of her father or husband, exceeds ₹2.5 lakh, she will be declared ineligible. The main condition for the Ladki Behen Yojana is that the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Many eligible women have low incomes. However, the husband’s income, if married, and the father’s income, if unmarried, will also be verified. Previously, the income of beneficiary women was verified. During this process, it was found that housewives and most women did not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Therefore, the state government has now made e-KYC of the husband or father mandatory to determine the family’s total income.
