Jeevan Pramaan Patra: How to deposit life certificate through door step banking, know the complete process here

There are many ways to submit life certificate. However, pensioners who cannot go to the bank to submit the life certificate can avail the doorstep banking service and submit the life certificate.


As soon as the month of November arrives, pensioners start lining up in banks to deposit their Life Certificates. However, pensioners who are 80 years of age or above can now submit their life certificate (Jeevan Pramana Patra), so that they can continue getting their pension. These pensioners have time from 1 October to 30 November 2023 to submit their annual life certificate for pension. The process for senior citizens aged between 60 to 80 years will start from November 1, 2023. Today we are going to tell you how you can submit your life certificate sitting at home without standing in the bank line.

Who Doorstep Banking

There are many ways to submit life certificate. However, pensioners who cannot go to the bank to submit the life certificate can avail the doorstep banking service and submit the life certificate. In door step banking, the bank official goes to the pensioner’s home and gets the proof of survival verified. Through this service, work becomes easier for those people who are unable to go to the bank.

Who can avail Doorstep Banking

According to SBI, senior citizens above 70 years of age and disabled including visually impaired people can avail the benefits of doorstep banking. For this service, it is necessary for pensioners to have complete KYC. Whereas a valid mobile number should be registered with the account.

Doorstep Banking Service Charge

The bank charges Rs 70 plus GST for financial and non-financial services including submission of life certificate. However, charges may vary depending on the bank. Some banks provide limited free doorstep banking service for senior citizens.

How to Register for Doorstep Banking

Step 1: Download the Doorstep Banking app from app store for iOS and play store for Android

Step 2: After download and installation of the app, enter the mobile number to register yourself

Step 3: System will generate OTP and enter OTP in DSB App

Step 4: Upon confirmation, enter name and email (optional), password (PIN) and accept the terms and conditions

Step 5: Login to the app with PIN to enter additional information

Step 6: Select and add address option and enter address details. Customers can add multiple addresses and stores in the DSB app. Customer can add, edit or delete address at any time.

How to submit e-service request

Step 1: Login to the Doorstep Banking app to initiate a service request. The customer has to select the bank.

Step 2: Enter the last six digits of the account number and submit

Step 3: Upon verification, OTP is sent to the customer’s mobile.

Step 4: Customer has to enter OTP in DSB mobile app. On successful OTP validation the app shows (Bank Name, Account Number, Name, Account Type and Branch Name.

Step 5: Select Service Request -Click on Life Certificate

Step 6: The customer has to select the branch. Customer can choose preferred time slot for the agent.

Step 7: Fees are debited from the customer’s account.

Step 8: Service request number will be generated. The customer will receive information through SMS about the assigned agent with necessary details (agent name, contact information, pick-up/delivery time and service code).
