ITR filing: Last date for filing ITR is near, know which documents will be required; Understand step by step complete process

ITR Filling: ITR for assessment year 2021-21 can be filed till March 31, 2022. If taxpayers do not file their ITR within the stipulated time, then they can be imprisoned from 3 years to 7 years according to the rules of income tax. First of all you have to select your form

Before filing ITR, you have to select ITR 1, ITR 2, ITR 3 and ITR 4 on the basis of your income. After this the document will be needed.

Which documents will be required

1- Bank or post office savings account passbook

2- PPF Account Passbook

3- Salary slip

4- Aadhar Card and Pan Card

5- If there is a home loan, then its statement from the bank

6- Proof of claiming deduction under 80D and 80U.

7- Form 16 is issued by the employer. In which all the information is given.

Requires three other forms

Form 16A- If TDS is deducted in addition to salary, then it is required. For example, interest on FD or RD exceeds the limit.

Form 16B – This form is definitely required when you sell a property.

Form 16C- If you have given your property on rent, then through this you will have to give information about TDS deducted on rent.

Fill your return like this

First of all you go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.hov.in . If you do not have a registered account then register with your PAN.

Step 1- Fill the required form according to your income.

Select your form by going to e-filling in the download section.

Step 2- Download Return Preparation Software and must check whether the information which is auto updated is getting from Form 16 or not.

Step 3- If you have any tax liability on you then proceed to pay the same, otherwise leave it and proceed.

Step 4- Confirm all your details and generate XML file.

Step 5- Go to the submit return section and upload the XML file.

Step 6- On successfull a message will appear on your screen. Along with this, the message of ITR verification will be mailed to you.

Step 7- E-verify through Net Banking, Bank ATM, Aadhar OTP, Bank Account Number, Registered Mobile Number and E-mail.
