If you are a taxpayer, then there is good news for you. Income Tax Department has launched a new app called AIS App. In this app, taxpayers will get complete information about every transaction. The IT department has issued an update on Form 26AS. Only TDS/TCS data is visible in it. Other information like advance tax, self-assessment tax, refund information will now be available on AIS.

How to download AIS App?

– First of all go to Google Play Store
– Type AIS for Taxpayers in the search option
– Install it now

What is AIS-

Annual Information Statement i.e. AIS keeps complete details of the transactions done during the financial year of taxpayers. It is very useful in filing ITR. AIS contains additional transaction information. Like interest rate, dividend, security transaction, mutual fund, there are complete details of money sent abroad.

What is Form 26AS?

Under Form 26AS, there is complete detail of tax deduction, collected and PAN during financial. While filing ITR, a taxpayer is required to have tax passbook, 26AS form and details of transactions during the financial year along with PAN. To download it, go to the Income Tax website. Here select Income Tax Return in the menu bar of e-filing. You can see the 26AS form here.

26AS contains the details of the source of TDS, tax collector’s information including self-assessment tax, advance tax, tax refund, annual information report, high value transaction, property tax deduction, tax deduction on high value amount and other tax deductions.
