Even if you are not in the tax slab, it is necessary for you to file ITR. The last date for filing ITR for the financial year 2021-22 is July 31. That means you have a total of 3 weeks left.

If you do not file ITR on time, you can be fined. You will be fined Rs 5,000 for filing ITR after July 31. You can file ITR online only. How to file ITR

  • First go to incometax.gov.in
  • Go to e-File and select Income Tax Return
  • Select File Income Tax Return from the menu.
  • Select FY 2021-22.
  • Select the online option for mode of filing.
  • Select Individual in Application Status. After that select ITR1.
  • Select the reason for filing ITR and select the Continue option.
  • After this validate 5 tabs.
  • These 5 tabs are – Personal Info, Gross Total Income, Total Deduction, Tax Paid and Total Liability.
  • Now go to the Return Summary. Proceed after checking 5 tabs.
  • Fill the requested information by going to the declaration tab.
  • Review all the information and process for validation if correct. If you see wrong information in the preview, correct it in the edit option.
  • After validating the ITR, verify it. You can do this through Aadhaar, OTP or Net Banking.
  • This work can also be done offline. For this, you have to take out the print of ITR V and sign it and send it to CPC, Income Tax Department, Bangalore. Although. You have to complete this work within 120 days of filing the return.
