Know the new rule of railway
This rule is for the passengers who have not booked tickets for a long time after the corona period. Such people will have to first verify their mobile number and email to book tickets from the IRCTC portal. Only after that you will get the ticket. However, passengers who have booked regular tickets will not have to go through this process. Actually, many mobile numbers have changed after Corona. Many new IDs have been created and many IDs have also been closed. In such a situation, the Railways has taken this step to verify the ID. Senior officials of IRCTC’s Delhi headquarters said that the process of mobile number and email verification has been started to ensure that the first and second wave of corona infection and the accounts which were inactive on the portal before that.

IRCTC sells tickets online (e-Tickets). Passengers create login and password on this portal for tickets. And then take advantage of online booking. To create a login password, you have to provide email and phone number. That is, you can book tickets only after verifying email and phone number. Know how the verification is done?
- Verification window opens when you login to IRCTC portal.
- Enter the already registered email and mobile number on it.
- Now there is an option of editing on the left and verification on the right.
- You can change your number or email by selecting edit option.
- On selecting the option of verification, an OTP (One Time Password) will come on your number.
- Your mobile number gets verified on entering OTP.
- Similarly, verification will have to be done for email as well.
- It is verified through the OTP received on the email.
