IRCTC has given a new facility to customers for ticket booking. Now IRCTC has added a new option in the payment gateway. In this you will see the option of auto pay, through which your money will not be deducted on ticket booking until the ticket is confirmed.

New Delhi. If you book tickets through IRCTC’s app or website, then to provide you more convenience, IRCTC has brought the feature of Auto Pay. On booking tickets through this feature, your money will be deducted only when your seat is confirmed. If the seat is not confirmed then your money will remain in your account.

If you have a question in your mind as to how this will work, then consider it like investing money in an IPO. When you invest in IPO, your money is not deducted from the account immediately. However, that amount is definitely blocked. Now if you were allotted shares in the IPO then the money will be deducted and if you were not allotted, you can use that money for some other purpose. In this the hassle of refund gets eliminated. Similarly, IRCTC’s auto pay feature will also work.

Where will you see this feature

You will see this feature at the top of the payment gateway option on IRCTC app or website. When you book tickets through this feature, you do not need to make immediate payment. In this, your money will definitely be blocked but will not be deducted. With this you will not need to wait or apply for a refund.

What will be its benefit?

If a passenger’s ticket is left waiting, there is no need to wait for a refund. If you book a Tatkal ticket and it also comes in the waitlist, then you will have to pay only the Tatkal fee. The remaining money will be returned immediately. Even if the ticket is not confirmed even after chart preparation, your money will be unblocked immediately.
