However, for the convenience of the passengers, Indian Railways has added pantry cars to the trains. Not only this, some trains like Rajdhani serve food without any extra charges. What if you want to have burger, dosa or Chinese food instead of the food served on the train?

If you want to eat something different, then Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is here to serve you. You have IRCTC e-Catering service available. You can order food at your berth at the online food ordering station. It’s quite interesting isn’t it? Here’s how to order your favorite food while on the train.

Confirm ticket or waiting ticket required

You will need a confirmed ticket or waiting ticket to book a meal through this service. This is because you have to enter the PNR and train details while ordering food. The e-catering service provides the option of making online as well as cash on delivery payments. At present, e-catering service is available from 6 am to 10 pm.

Order can be done in three ways

If the train is delayed and food is not provided, the full amount will be refunded to the passenger. There are three ways you can order food while traveling in the train. You can order through the e-catering website. Apart from this, you can book food by calling on Food on Track mobile app and 1323.
