The renewed diplomatic warmth between India and China is now being reflected in air travel as well. The country’s largest low-cost airline, IndiGo, announced on Saturday that it will resume direct flights from Delhi to Guangzhou, China.

This service will begin on November 10, 2025. This is the second city, after Kolkata, to offer direct flights to China. Just a few days ago, IndiGo announced that it would begin non-stop daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou from October 26.

IndiGo stated that it previously operated flights between India and China, but these had to be suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company stated that it already has all the necessary arrangements and local partners in place with China, making it easier to restart this connection. This new direct flight will allow passengers to reach China directly without any stopovers. The company will soon release a full schedule of ticket prices and flight timings. IndiGo believes that this route will further strengthen business and travel connectivity between the two countries.

how much will the rent be

A direct flight from Delhi to Guangzhou, China, will operate daily starting November 10th. This flight will depart Delhi at 9:45 PM daily and land in Guangzhou at 4:50 AM (local Chinese time). After searching Skyscanner, we found that the ticket price for this flight is ₹15,917.

Air India will also start service

According to sources, Air India may also launch direct flights to China by the end of the year. This will expand travel options and strengthen connectivity between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry statement

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that discussions regarding the resumption of direct flights between India and China have been ongoing since the beginning of this year. Civil aviation officials from both countries have been discussing the matter at a technical level. It has now been decided that flights between the two countries can resume from the end of October under a winter schedule. The ministry stated that this move will help increase people-to-people contact between the two countries and strengthen mutual relations.

Why were flights cancelled?

In fact, direct flights between India and China were suspended following the Galwan Valley clash and the COVID-19 pandemic. For the past five years, neither tourist nor business travel between the two countries has been as smooth as before. Now, the situation is changing. Following recent diplomatic talks and reduced border tensions, relations are returning to normal. Several rounds of military and diplomatic talks have taken place between the two countries, improving the atmosphere. Furthermore, the easing of trade restrictions and high-level meetings have also helped bring relations back on track.
