Indian Railways: If you are thinking of making reservation for trains operating in Delhi and surrounding states, then do it before Friday night, because all the services of Delhi Passenger Reservation System (PRS) will remain closed from night till Saturday morning. However, Railways claims that very few people will be inconvenienced at the time the services remain closed. Very few people use the service.
PRS operates from five cities across the country. These include Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Guwahati. Delhi PRS system will remain closed on Friday night. That is, all types of services including reservation, cancellation, inquiry (139 and counter service), internet booking in all the trains operated by Delhi PRS will remain closed for about 04.30 hours from 11.45 pm on 12th April to 04.15 am on 13th April.
During this period, no work related to Delhi PRS can be done from PRS of any other city. If you want to get reservation or any other kind of work done, then get it done before Friday night, otherwise you will be able to get it done only on Saturday morning.
