Economy AC-3 Coach: The wait is over, now the economy AC-3 coach is ready for rail passengers, from September 9 it will start running on the tracks. This coach is equipped with modern facilities.
Economy AC-3 Coach: Now railway passengers will get the pleasure of traveling by AC-3 coach in economy class fare. Indian Railways has started such a train. According to Amit Malviya, Public Relations Officer of Indian Railways, Indian Railways has introduced three tier air conditioned compartment in economy class.
Enjoy the AC in economy fare
That is, the passengers who used to travel in sleeper class in long distance trains will now get a chance to travel in AC-3. The fare of these trains is expected to be 8% less than the AC-3 tickets of the existing trains. According to media reports, the base fare for a distance of 300 km can be Rs 40, which is the lowest in terms of distance. The base fare has been kept at Rs 651 for a distance of 491-500 km, Rs 908 for a distance of 741 km, and Rs 1102 for a distance of 991 to 1000 km. While the base fare for the distance from 4951 to 5000 km is expected to be Rs 3,065.
Economy AC-3 train from September 9
The first economy AC3 tier coach will be fitted in special train 2403/04 Prayagraj-Jaipur Express under North Central Railway. This train will start running on the tracks from September 9, its booking has started from last Saturday. This new economy AC-3 coach will have 83 seats, while AC-3 coaches usually have 72 seats, that is, it will have 15% more seats.
More amenities for less fare
This coach will get more facilities than the normal AC-3. For example, in this, there will be facility for disabled people to climb and descend from the wheelchair at the doors. The bathroom has also been designed keeping in mind the differently-abled. The coach will have a foldable table. Space has also been given to keep magazines, mobiles and water bottles. It will have modular bio toilets with touch free fittings. Personalized reading lights are provided. You will also get personalized sockets for charging laptops and mobiles. There are modified stairs to climb the middle and upper berths.
800 economy AC-3 coaches will be made
Indian Railways plans to manufacture at least 800 economy class AC-3 coaches by the end of 2021. Out of these 800 coaches, 300 coaches will be manufactured at Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, 285 at Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareli and 177 at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.
