As a result, the semi-high-speed train is already running on 15 routes covering several states and cities. To further this growth, Indian Railways is planning to add five more Vande Bharat trains on various routes in the country. The first of these five trains is going to start on the Puri-Howrah route. Probably this month it will be flagged off.

The semi-high-speed train will be started on the New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati route after the first train in Odisha and the second in South Eastern Railway. This will be the first unit of the train to be operational in Northeast India. After this, the government is planning to start an advance train on the Patna-Ranchi route.

After the successful trial run of Vande Bharat Express train on Howrah-Puri route, Odisha government has urged to add more semi-high-speed trains on Bhubaneswar-Hyderabad, Puri-Raipur and Puri-Howrah lines.

According to reports, the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will leave Howrah in West Bengal at 5:50 am and reach Puri in Odisha at 11:50 am. Vande Bharat will leave Puri at 2 pm and reach Howrah at 7:30 pm.

Reportedly, Khurda Road Junction, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Haldia stations will all be stoppages for the Puri-Howrah train.

The fare for chair car is estimated to be Rs 1,590 (with Rs 308 for food) and for executive class it is Rs 2,815 (with Rs 369 for food). If a passenger chooses “No Meals”, then the catering is not included in the ticket price.
