Indian Railways: Railways cancelled 42 trains till May 24 to increase coal transportation, check your train details immediately

Indian Railways: Railways has canceled the operation of 42 trains till May 24 to increase the transportation of coal to power stations. Passengers have been asked to make alternate arrangements to go to the destination. After the assessment of the situation, a decision will be taken on starting the trains again.


Indian Railways: Indian Railways has once again come into action mode to overcome the power crisis arising in the country due to shortage of coal. Railways has temporarily canceled the operation of 42 trains to transport coal to power stations. Now these trains will be used for supplying coal from mines to power houses.

Operation of 42 trains canceled till May 24

According to the information released by the Railways, about 1100 trips have been canceled due to the cancellation of 42 trains for the transportation of coal. These trains will remain canceled till May 24, after which a decision will be taken to run these trains after assessing the situation.

Railways has already canceled the rounds

In the trains which have been cancelled, 500 trips of Mail Express and 580 trips of Passenger trains will remain cancelled. Among the canceled trains, 34 trains are connected to SECR zone and 8 trains to Northern zone. Earlier, the Railways had canceled about 650 rounds of trains. It is believed that if the power crisis continues like this, then to increase the supply of coal, more trains can also be canceled and used for transportation.

Railways adding special wagons to the locomotives of passenger trains

Let us tell you that the coal crisis is going on in the country at this time. These days there is not enough coal available in many power plants of the country to generate electricity. In such a situation, the Railways has taken the responsibility of filling the coal from the mines and transporting them to the power stations as soon as possible. For this a large number of passenger trains have been canceled. Coal-carrying space wagons are being added to the engines of these trains and sent to power stations. On an average, 28,470 wagons of coal are being loaded daily by the Railways to meet the demand of power plants. A coal train usually has up to 84 wagons.
