Indian Railways: Not all coaches of Indian trains are the same. According to the facilities available in them, they are identified with different codes. Adding AC-3 economy class coaches was started in some trains. This coach has been given the code name M. In which more facilities are available than AC-3 tier.

Now there are many types of coaches in trains, which make their journey a lot of fun. Railway coaches are divided into different classes. In which passengers book tickets according to their budget and facilities. Till now you must have seen SL, 1A, 2A, 3A, 2S and CC category coaches in any train.
But now a new coach is also being seen on which M1, M2 etc. are written. In the year 2021, some coaches of AC-3 i.e. 3A category coaches were added to the train with better facilities by the Railways. This coach is known as M code. However, this facility has been provided in only a few trains so far.
Know what is M coach in train
The AC-3 economy coaches in the Railways are newer than the older AC-3 tier. These are equipped with modern facilities. The design of these coaches has also been improved as compared to before. Let us tell you that in AC-3 economy coach, separate AC duct has been installed for each passenger of each seat. Along with this, arrangements for bottle stand, reading light and charging have been made for every seat. This provides a lot of convenience to the passengers. AC-3 has 72 seats. Whereas 11 more seats have been added in AC-3 economy. Due to which the total number of seats becomes 83 seats.
How is AC-3 economy different from AC-3 tier?
AC-3 Economy Class is also the same coach as the AC-3 tier. It provides all the facilities available in AC-3 tier along with some extra facilities. But the biggest difference is that the train has AC-3 tier coaches. It does not have AC-3 economy coaches. AC-3 Economy is the name given to the new AC-3 coaches.
