Indian Railways / IRCTC: Many trains have also been canceled due to decrease in passenger numbers. Railways have reduced the number of trains on many routes or canceled many trains till further orders.


 Indian Railways / IRCTC Latest Updates: The second wave of Corona continues to wreak havoc in the country. Restrictions like lockdown are in place in most states of the country to overcome the corona. After the lockdown, migrant workers from big cities also started returning home. In view of this, the railways also operated many special trains. Apart from this, many trains have also been canceled due to decrease in the number of passengers. Railways have reduced the number of trains on many routes or canceled many trains till further orders.

In the midst of all this, Eastern Railway has decided to cancel 10 special trains.

Among the 10 trains canceled by the Railways between May 19 and May 25, train number 02343 Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri Special, 02344 New Jalpaiguri to Sealdah, 02201 Sealdah-Puri, 02202 Puri-Sealdah, 02261 Kolkata-Haldibari Special, 02262 Haldibari-Kolkata Special, 03181 Kolkata Silghat Special, 03182-Silghat-Kolkata Special, 03063 Howrah-Badughat Special and 03064 Balughat-Howrah Special train are included.

Apart from this, Western Railway has also canceled 11 trains due to Cyclone Toute. Western Railway tweeted “The coastal areas of Gujarat #CycloneTauktae some special trains including 09217 Bandra Terminus – Veraval Special 18/05/2021 The 18 and May 19, will be canceled in 2021.
