New Delhi: On Monday, the parliamentary panel gave some suggestions regarding the Indian Railway Reservation. These suggestions of the Parliamentary Panel were mainly regarding the Second Reservation Chart to be prepared before the journey of the Railways.

The panel said that the Indian Railways should review the policy of preparing its second chart of reservation. In this regard, the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Railways said that there is no logic to prepare the reservation chart 30 minutes before the departure of the train when the passengers of waiting and RAC tickets are waiting for their confirmed tickets.

The committee headed by BJP MP Radha Mohan said on the report of reservation system of Indian Railways that the provision of booking tatkal tickets is already in place for those who want to travel on short notice, so the first reservation is 4-5 hours in advance. After the list is prepared, the remaining vacant seats in the train should be given to passengers with RAC tickets and passengers with waiting list. With this, passengers will be able to travel without any problem in the stipulated time.

Ticket information should be available in real time

The parliamentary panel in its report also gave suggestions to provide more help to the RAC ticket holders. The panel said that a special arrangement should be made in railway coaches so that passengers can easily check the status of their waiting list, and not a passenger has to repeatedly search the TT to know the status of the ticket. Passengers should get information about the status of their tickets in real time, which will also bring transparency in the allocation of seats.

Flexi fare reduced the access of passengers

Along with this, the committee also suggested the Railways to review the Flexi/Dynamic fare mechanism introduced in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains. The committee noted that the ticket price of premium trains is already much higher than that of regular mail and express trains and now due to the increase in fares under flexi schemes, these trains are economically disadvantaged or otherwise accessible to premium rail users. Got off the train. The panel also suggested the Railways to increase the capacity of the IRCTC website server.
