Indian Railways: Good news! Now after getting the chart, refund can also be given on the canceled train ticket, just have to do this work

Indian Railways: If you have to cancel your train ticket due to any emergency, you can still apply for refund.


Indian Railways: If you have to suddenly cancel your train journey due to any emergency, and the train chart has also been prepared. Even in such a situation, Indian Railways gives you a refund of your train ticket. Indian Railways said that if due to some unforeseen reasons, you cancel the train ticket after the preparation of the chart, you can still claim the refund.


IRCTC shared a video on Twitter and said that Indian Railways provides refund on cancellation of untravelled or partially traveled tickets. For this, you have to submit the Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) as per the rules of the Railways.

Process to file TDR online

  • To file TDR on the official website of IRCTC, first of all you have to visit www.irctc.co.in.
  • After this, you go to the home page and click on My Account, after which in the drop down menu, click on My transaction.
  • Here you will get File TDR option. Where you will have to TDR file by selecting any one option.
  • After this you will see the information of the person in whose name the ticket is booked.
  • Once you have entered your PNR number, train number and captcha, tick the box for cancellation rules.
  • After that click on submit button.
  • Now you will receive an OTP on the number given in the form at the time of booking.
  • After entering the OTP, click on submit.
  • You will be able to see the details of your PNR.
  • After verifying the PNR details, click on the Cancel ticket option.
  • Soon after, you will be able to see the refund amount on the page.
  • On the number given on the booking form, you will also get a confirmation message containing the PNR and refund information.
