Indian Railways: Good News! Festival special trains will start from today; Check route and riming here

Indian Railways: Important news for railway passengers! Ticket cancellation rules have been implemented from today, know rules otherwise..

Indian Railways will make special trains available for passengers from October 10 to November 21 to meet the growing demand during festivals like Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja. Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to travel in these special trains.



Indian Railway Festival Special Trains: Railways has given great news to the passengers in view of the upcoming Dussehra, Deepawali and Chhath Puja festivals. If you are planning to go during the festive season, then know about the festival special trains of the Railways. Special trains will be available for passengers from October 10 to November 21 to meet the growing demand during festivals like Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja.

Let us tell you that India is still going through second wave phase and railways does not want to take any risk. So it has decided to run additional special trains, but at very low operating capacity. Western Railway on Saturday said that it will extend the journeys of 5 pairs of festival special trains for the convenience of the passengers and to meet the travel demand.

Increase the frequency of 5 pairs of festival special trains





These trains include Orkha-Ernakulam (Bi-Weekly), Okha- Rameswaram Special (Weekly), Indore-Kochuveli Special (Weekly), Madhurai-Bikaner Special (Weekly) and Chennai Egmore-Jodhpur Special (Weekly). In addition, Western Railway will run six more pairs of MEMU special trains from October 11.

8 festival special trains will start from Delhi

Apart from this, Northern Railway has started 8 festival special trains from Delhi. Out of which one each is from Bathinda, Katra and Chandigarh respectively. Northern Railway Festive Special trains include Anand Vizar-Muzaffarpur, New Delhi-Darbhanga, Chandigarh-Gorakhpur, New Delhi-Barauni, Bhatinda-Varanasi, New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Katra-Varanasi, Delhi-Varanasi, Anand Vihar-Jayanagar , Anand Vihar-Saharsa and Anand Vihar-Katra. On the other hand, Eastern Railway has announced to run Sealdah-Haridwar Puja special train every Saturday from October 9.

South Central Railway is also running special trains

To clear the extra rush during Dussehra festival, South Central Railway will run special trains between Poorna and Tirupati. Train number 07607 Poorna – Tirupati will open on 11,18 and 24 October while train number 07608 Tirupati – Poorna will be available on 12,19 and 26 October. In addition, South Central Railway will also run Dussehra Festival Special trains between Secunderabad-Narasapur and Secunderabad-Kakinada Town from October 14. Southern Railway will run fully reserve special trains between Chennai Egmore-Mangalore Central every day from October 17, 2021.

Only passengers with confirmed tickets are allowed to travel

Please tell that only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to travel in these special trains. Western Railway has requested the passengers to follow all the rules and SOPs related to COVID-19 during boarding, journey and destination.

Booking of tickets will start from designated PRS counts and IRCTC website. All Festival Special trains will run as fully reserved trains on fare. Passengers may visit www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in to know the detailed timings about the stoppages of special trains.
