Indian Railways has changed the timings and stoppages of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express. This train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025.
It is operated by Northern Railway (NR). Train No. 26401/26402 Katra-Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 191 km, taking 2 hours 58 minutes.
Starting October 29, 2025, the train will stop for two minutes in both directions at Reasi station, which previously only stopped at Banihal station. Northern Railway stated that this decision was made in response to increasing passenger demand in Reasi district. This new stop was added due to its proximity to the Vaishno Devi shrine and the world’s highest railway bridge, the Chenab Bridge.
