The purpose of starting this service is to facilitate the passengers and to meet their ever-changing needs. This has made it easy for people to upgrade the coach even after booking the ticket. Passengers also have the option to make additional journey by changing their destination with some additional payment.

How to upgrade your coach?
If you also want to upgrade your coach during the journey, then you do not need to go to any booth. You can take advantage of this facility while sitting on your seat only. You must be wondering what needs to be done for this? If you want to travel in AC coach instead of sleeper coach, then for this you have to make your request by contacting the TTE present in the coach. If seat is free in AC coach then TTE will allot you this berth.

This is the rule
Instead of seat upgrade, you will have to pay cash to TTE as per rules. You also need to keep in mind that you can take advantage of the seat upgrade system of the railways only when a berth is vacant in another coach. If the seat is not vacant then you will have to travel in the same coach in which your berth has been allotted.
