New Delhi: Indian Railways has now given a special offer to those traveling by rail. Now such a scheme has been started in the country under which any state or person could hire trains and these trains have been named ‘Bharat Gaurav Train’. To take the trains, certain conditions have to be fulfilled and the railways will charge a minimum fare from them in return.
Bharat Gaurav trains will run in the country
There are plans to run 180 Bharat Gaurav trains in the country at present and it will have more than three thousand coaches. Railways has also started the process of taking applications for this from today and they are also getting very good response.
According to the Railways, Bharat Gaurav trains can be operated by both the private sector and IRCTC. Also, its fare will be decided by the tour operator. These trains will be based on the theme showcasing the culture, heritage of India, about 180 trains have been earmarked for this. After passenger, freight, railways is going to start the third segment of trains for tourism.
Aim to promote tourism
Announcing the plan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the stakeholders will make these trains modern and run while the railways will work to provide maintenance, parking and other facilities of these trains. He said that it will not be like regular train service nor is it a normal train service. The main objective of Bharat Gaurav trains is to promote tourism in India.
The Railway Minister said that at present the operation of these trains is being started keeping only the focus on tourism. The Prime Minister has said that railways should be linked with Indian culture and civilization, which is why railways will be started to show the pride of India. Taking applications has started from today and these special trains can be operated by any state, person or organization.
