Illegal Booking Train Ticket News: The railways has been warning about not booking tickets illegally. In the name of ticket booking, agents illegally charge people arbitrary prices for tickets. Western Railway has recently worked to crack down on agents who book tickets illegally.
Taking strict action against ticket booking touts, special drives are being conducted regularly by the security forces of Western Railway in six divisions. According to the Railways, when a ticket is booked by a third person through IRCTC, then there is a need to be alert. Western Railway has confiscated e-tickets and travel-cum-reservation tickets worth about Rs 2.15 crore as a result of this drive.
Brokers were booking tickets using many fake IDs
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, RPF of Western Railway has constituted special teams of dedicated staff from RPF Crime Branch, Cyber Cell and Detective Detective Wing of Divisions to conduct special operations against touts. Subsequently, it was found that the touts were booking tickets using several fake IDs, including some authorized IRCTC agents, who used fake IDs and illegal software to issue tickets.

Action is taken on these illegal brokers under the legal provisions of section 143 of the Railway Act. This action is taken by the Railway Protection Force, as there is no IPC section on these criminals. The touts are produced in a railway court, where they easily escape by paying a fine. This is the reason that these criminals do not have much fear about doing such things.
