New Delhi: Indian Railways has given great news to the passengers. Now any member of your family can travel to your place on a confirmed ticket. Many times it is seen that after getting a ticket, we have to make changes in our travel plan for some reason. But in such a situation, many times you have to cancel your ticket.

Now you can transfer railway tickets

If you have a confirmed ticket, you can transfer your ticket. That is, now someone else can travel in your place on your confirmed ticket.

You can request for transfer of your confirmed ticket 24 hours before the train’s timing. After your request, your name is deducted from your ticket, and another passenger’s name is entered.

The most important thing to know about ticket transfer is that you can transfer tickets only once. Once the ticket is transferred, you cannot transfer this ticket again.

How to transfer your ticket

  • First of all you have to take a printout of your ticket.
  • After this, you have to go to the reservation ticket counter of the railway with this printout.
  • You have to apply for the transfer over the counter.
  • After this, you will have to give some ID proof of whose ticket you want to do.
  • After this, you can take a printout of the confirmed ticket with the new passenger from the counter.
  • Railway confirmed ticket transfer can only be transferred to your family member right now. That is, you can transfer your confirmed ticket to your father, mother, brother, sister, wife, son or daughter only.
