Indian Railway Platform tickets: Platform tickets become expensive at 6 stations, now you will have to pay 50 rupees

Central Railways News: Ahead of Diwali, the Central Railway has increased the price of platform tickets at its 6 major and busiest railway stations. The new rates have come into effect from today. After this decision, now you will have to buy expensive tickets at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel.


Railway increased platform ticket rate: The Central Railway has taken a big decision in this festive season to prevent chaos and control the number of unnecessary people during the rush at all its railway stations. Central Railway has increased platform ticket prices at some of its major stations. The new and increased prices have come into effect from this morning itself.

Now platform ticket for Rs 50

Platform ticket prices have now been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at major stations in Mumbai from Saturday to control overcrowding during the festive season. However, these prices have been implemented temporarily.

Central Railway PRO statement

Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Shivaji Sutar said on Friday that the new rates would be applicable on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel. These stations are the busiest junctions for long distance trains and will remain in force till October 31.

Such a decision was taken many times in the last two years

The CPRO of Central Railway also said that this increase has been done in view of the huge rush of passengers during the festive season. Let us tell you that such a temporary hike in platform tickets has been implemented several times by the Zonal Railways in Mumbai in the last two years.

Number of festival trains increased to prevent overcrowding

Let us tell you that this time some railway stations of Central Railway are not seeing the same congestion and chaos as before. Keeping in mind the increasing number of passengers in view of Diwali and Chhath, new trains are being run continuously.
