Indian Navy’s strength will increase, Defense Minister launches 5th nuclear submarine of Scorpene series

To make the Indian Navy more strong and powerful, a submarine built in the country has been inducted into the Navy.
In the midst of ongoing tension with China, India is making strong strides towards strengthening its forces. To make the Indian Navy more strong and powerful, a submarine built in the country has been inducted into the Navy. Under this, the Minister of State for Defense, Shripad Naik, launched the Scorpene class 5 submarine Wagir. The Diesel Electrical Submarine Wagir is an indigenous submarine, built under Make in India.

Union Minister of State for Defense Shripad Y. Naik and his wife Vijaya Naik launched Vagir through video conferencing. The agreement between India and France under Project 75 aims to build 6 Scorpene-class submarines. Which is being developed by Mazgaon Dock Limited. Vagir will be tested in the deep sea for the next one year. By the end of 2021, Vagir will be inducted into the naval fleet.




Explain that out of the 4 submarines of this series, INS Kalavari, INS Khanderi, are serving in the Navy while Karanj and Vela are undergoing trials. After this, with the deployment of the 5th submarine Vagir in the Indian Ocean, the strength of the Indian Navy has increased. On the other hand, the construction of the sixth submarine Vagashir is underway and by the year 2022, all 6 Scorpene series submarines are targeted to be included in the Navy.
