What is the truth of this claim?
Fact Check has been done in PIB of the claim of change in passport viral on social media. Giving this information on its official Twitter handle, PIB said that it is being claimed in the Whatsapp message that the Indian government has removed the column of nationality from the Indian passport. This claim is completely bogus. The Government of India has not issued any such order related to passport. So don’t fall for this delusion.

Fake claim
This claim is completely bogus. The Government of India has not issued any order on change in passport. The claim being made in the viral message that a new passport will be available only after keeping the old passport is completely fake. Along with this, PIB has also advised that to know the truth of any viral message, first of all go to its official website and cross verify it.
