Corps commander-level talks between India and China took place on Tuesday in Chushul, eastern Ladakh. The talks lasted for about 14.5 hours. It is reported that the talks started at 11.30 am on Tuesday and ended at around 2 pm.
According to the information received, in this meeting, the two sides discussed the second phase of the withdrawal of forces in a phased manner along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). In this conversation, there was a discussion on reducing the tension on the finger area Depsang and the place of pulling the arms back.
Officials said the fourth phase of the Corps Commander level talks focused on the move to remove large numbers of troops and weapons from the rear military installations near the LAC in eastern Ladakh.

Sources said the Indian side insisted on the restoration of the former status quo in all areas of eastern Ladakh before May 5. He said concerns were also conveyed about China’s new claims in the area and demanded immediate withdrawal of Chinese troops from several areas, including Pangong Tso. However, no official statement has been made about the details of the meeting.
This was the fourth dialogue at the Corps Commander level. Earlier, the two armies held talks on June 6, June 22 and June 30 to ease tensions at the disputed border.
