Which feature is added to the e-filing portal?
Taxpayers can now apply for corrections against certain income tax orders through the e-filing portal. Prior to this feature, this process was lengthy and cumbersome, requiring manual correction applications.
The Income Tax Department, adding this feature, stated that now taxpayers will no longer have to visit their Assessing Officer (AO) to file rectification applications related to TP (Transfer Pricing), DRP (Dispute Resolution Panel), and revision orders. They will be able to apply directly through the e-filing portal.
How to apply
Firstly, taxpayers need to visit the e-filing portal
After that click on the Services tab.
Now you will see the Rectification tab.
After that, you will be able to apply by clicking on the option of Request to AO seeking rectification.
The Income Tax Department added this feature to address taxpayer concerns. This new digital facility has made the rectification process completely online.
